When using the red release button on the Erickson Re-Tractable Ratchet Straps # EM34416 it takes more than a simple press of the button to release the tension. Make sure you get a firm grip on the ratchet when you press the button and then close the whole ratchet to release the tension. See the attached video starting at the 50 second mark which demonstrates this.

If your Erickson Ratchet Tie-Down Strap w Double J-Hooks # EM78627-MS are stuck then I recommend holing one of them in place with something like a vice and tapping on the other one with a rubber mallet at different angles to slowly loosen it up. "Unfortunately, there is no real way to “reset” the spring on the inside when it wont retract. Over tightening straps that secure a bike by the handlebars can blow out the fork seals. So I would not recommend the use of a strap that automatically tightens as you will end up with the problem you experienced.

Your Fulton T1801 may be slipping for a number of different reasons. Some of the most common come from use over time. If the teeth on the planetary gear or ratchet pawl start to wear down, or if the handle is stripped at the attachment point, you may experience slipping. If it is only slightly worn that would explain why it works fine without any weight but not with the weight of the boat. The spring may also need to be replaced.

I have not seen any customer feedback stating that the K-Source Universal Towing Mirrors # KS3891-2 have folded in when a semi truck passes by in the opposite direction, although I can see a big rig doing so if the tow mirrors were not completely tightened and secured to your factory mirrors.

Sounds like your B and W Companion Slider part # BWRVK3400 is stuck in the gooseneck ball shank of your truck bed. What we normally recommend when this happens is to connect to a fifth wheel trailer like you normally would, and then with the pin pulled out from the shank of the gooseneck hitch use the landing gear jacks to see if you can lift the hitch out of the truck bed. This is a great way to gain a mechanical advantage over the problem.

The main reason for them breaking off is because there is too much torque on them or from having them to loose which then can create movement and eventually cause them to break. It is hard to say if the hard angle is making it to where your lugs break because of the amount of pressure being put on them.
